Now only a few weeks till we leave and in preparation for the wildlife and many sights that we will see in Kenya we attended a photography session made available to the group and presented by Dwight Arthur who is a professional commercial photographer in Red Deer. Only a handful of people attended but we learned some valuable information and hope to come home with some great photos.
One week before our departure Nellie joined a group of volunteers and organization members to pack much of the medical supplies and the donated items that include clothing for all ages, footwear, blankets and school supplies. The duffle bags that are being packed have also been donated and will be left in Kenya when we leave. The original plan was for each member of the travelling group to take one of these ‘supply’ bags as a second piece of luggage. Now that the group as large as it is, not everyone needs to do that, and because we’re spending a week in Holland prior to arriving in Kenya we have opted out of this duty.
